Held for two weeks each
November in schools and libraries across the north east of England,
NCBF is Europe's largest FREE children's book festival.
42 of the UK's finest children's writers,
poets, illustrators and storytellers are taking part this year.
NCBF is organised by the northern region's library services.
This year's Festival takes place:
November 8th-20th
NCBF author sessions
Our sessions take place in schools with each author visiting
for a full day.
These sessions are therefore closed and not
available to the general public.

Gala Day
This year's open to all Gala Day spectacular
takes place on Saturday 20th November at Blyth Community College.

Barley Mow & Kell's Lane Primary

November 9, 10, 11
Shoo will be visiting 2 Gateshead schools, working with the children
to develop a new, open source children's book character, to be
called Winston.
The children will develop the character, storylines and images
and then launch a new website with an invitation
to children around the world to upload their Winston stories to
the site.
This project combines literacy and ICT by using cutting
edge weblog and web-conferencing technologies.
